Hotel-restaurant Schwanen

We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past 5 years because of its location. My company has a corporate account with this hotel so we would expect a better pricing. However the opposite is the case despite the best price promise when you book directly. This however is minor compared to the poor attitude and rude behavior of some of the front desk staff. Customer care and assistance simply is not a priority. We stayed for two weeks and were asked to change rooms twice because of conflicting bookings. We finally decided to leave two days earlier because of this inconvenience and were charged a hefty cancellation fee. Parking is at a premium and front desk chases you away if you park in a non designated area also it is completely legal. The restaurant is average at best. The menu is boring and hasn’t changed much. Obviously business must be good as there is no effort to please the customer. One of the biggest issue is that you don’t know what room you get. Some have AC others don’t. Church bells ringing early mornings and street traffic are a nuisance and room service is a hit and miss. In the future I will avoid this hotel and have other visitors we host directed to better nearby hotels.

I have stayed in this family owned hotel several times with my husband and this time also with our kids. Always good atmosphere and friendly stuff. Great breakfast , nice rooms and everything is clean. Great location. would recommend it and will stay there again :) And restaurant serves very good food and they have a nice choice of vines.

No reception after 9 pm but ok if you have your mobile with roaming to receive the email with the door code and locker so you can get your card. Nothing is in English even the email you receive is in German... :( Adding to this I was smoking at the room window and since the room is not for smokers I was forced to pay a fine of 180€ for cleaning imagin that this is higher then the room night cost. Never again in life
